Rooted In Community: American Indian Community Center

This is the first video in our monthly Rooted in Community Video Series featuring community partners from the Building Connections Initiative cohort.

The American Indian Community Center was founded in 1967 as a social gathering place for Indian and Native American people in the Spokane area.

After many moves, they are currently working to build their forever home in High Bridge Park near the confluence of the Latah Creek and Spokane River — a site with deep significance to the Spokane Tribe of Indians. The location will serve as both a cultural landmark and a vital resource hub.
