What is Empire Health Foundation working on?

Currently, Empire Health Foundation is developing our strategic initiatives: Healthy Lifestyles/Obesity Prevention and Mental Health. We are in the design/start-up phase in both of these initiatives, and grant applications related to these initiatives will most likely be by invitation only.   Through our capacity building and responsive programs, we fund an extremely broad range of issues and organizations working from wellness to prevention to health care access.  Please see our blog and the grants pages for more information.  

How much money does Empire Health Foundation grant each year?

The targeted grant budget in 2011 will be approximately $1.8 million.  The Foundation will work diligently to maximize these funds to create the largest positive impact on health in our region.

How do we apply for grants?

The foundation utilizes a portfolio approach to grantmaking.  One portion of our grants budget is reserved for example for emergency one time grants that have deadlines twice each year and are unsolicited proposals.  Another portion of our grants are designed for strategic impact, and potential partners/grantees are identified and assessed and applications are invitation only.  Please see our grants pages for additional information.
